On the weekend of January 20th, the Nashville City Championship was held at the Nashville Chess Club. (NM) Joseph Wan defeated (FM) Todd Andrews in the last round to even both players with 4/5 points. They played 2 tiebreaker blitz games which ended in draws, followed by an exciting armageddon game in which Joseph defeated Todd to win the 2023 crown.
In the challengers section Josh Campbell dominated the competion with an undfeated 4.5/5. His crucial round 3 victory against 2nd place finsiher Armaan Singhvi all but clinched the title for Josh.
