Nashville Scholastic Chess Qualifier for the 2023 Scholastic City Championship

This is the building at the corner of Harding Place and Granny White Pike.
Schedule
Doors open at 7:30am. On-Site Registration closes at 8:30am.
Round 1 9:00am. Rounds 2- 5 to follow as soon as each section finishes a round. Schedule will advance only when possible. Lunch break will take place between rounds with extra time given. Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the day to support the host school or you can bring your own lunch and snacks. Awards Ceremony will take place for each section as it finishes Round 5.
Format
5 Round Swiss Pairing System. Time Control: Game in 30 minutes each with a 5-second delay.
All players complete five rounds, win, lose, or draw. Please alert a tournament director if your player will be missing a round. Players who are late may receive a half-point bye in round one.
Sections
High School K-12 - Grades 12 and below Middle School K-8 - Grades 8 and below
Elementary K-5 - Grades 5 and below Primary K-3- Grades 3 and below
K-1- Grades 1 and below K-12 Unrated- First time players and beginners
US Chess Membership is required for all sections except Unrated. Unrated section players do not qualify for the City Championship. Visit www.uschess.org for information about US Chess membership.

Registration and payment is available online or by mail through September 15, 2022.

$25- if received by September 10, 2022 (or $35 after early date and for On-Site Registration).
Awards
Trophies: Top 10 individuals in each section, Top 3 teams. Medals: 11th-20th place individuals. The Top 2 players from High School, Middle School, Elementary, Primary and K-1 qualify to play in the 2023 Nashville Scholastic City Championship. The Top 2 female players from each section qualify to play in the 2023 All-Girls Nashville City Championship. To qualify, players must live within a 50-mile radius of The Nashville Chess Center. The 2023 Nashville Scholastic City Championship will take place January 7-8, 2023 at the NCC. The 2023 Nashville All-Girls City Championship will take place January 21, 2023 at the NCC.
