St. Bernard's Academy chess club will meet every Monday that school is in session starting Monday, September 12, 2022 through May 8, 2023.
20 spots available in each group - We will have two coaches this year with two separate experience level groups. This club is open to 1st Grade - 8th grade.
No chess club on the following Mondays:
10/3 for Fall Break, 10/31 for Halloween. We resume on 01/09/2023. No chess on 01/16 for MLK Day, 02/20 for Presidents Day/Winter Break, 03/13 for Spring Break, 04/10 for Easter and Semester Ends on 05/08.
Chess will meet:
September 12, 19, 26 - October 10,17,24 - November 7, 14, 21, 28 - December 5, 12. January 9, 23, 30 - February 6, 13, 27 - March 6, 20, 27 - April 3, 17, 24 and May 1, 8 (last day).
PLEASE CHOOSE "UPPER GROUP" FOR ANY CHESS PLAYERS THAT HAVE BEEN IN CHESS CLUB BEFORE, ARE RATED PLAYERS, HAVE DONE TOURNAMENTS, OR FOR NEWER STUDENTS IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOL.

The one-time entry fee covers the entire school year. You will not be asked for any additional payments for chess club in the 2nd semester.
Chess club students will be picked up in the gym and escorted to our chess club classrooms in the middle school on the second floor at 3:15 PM and then walked down to after school/car rider line at 4:15 PM.
All students will get a Gold Membership ($49 value) to ChessKid.com to utilize along with our in class curriculum. ChessKid is a 100% safe site where only the coach and parent accounts assigned to each specific student are able to communicate with students.
All students also receive a a one-year NCC Membership ($45 value) as part of their chess club registration.

The Nashville Chess Center Coach will work to create a competitive SBA Bears Chess Team to go out and compete at various events in the area and state through out the school year (Full schedule will be sent home Day 1 of chess).
Fees for tournaments and all outside events are additional costs to the families when they choose to compete.
