COVID PROTOCOLS: WE WILL FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE SCHOOL ALWAYS. Students will be masked and sanitize hands before chess club and as they depart.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation must be made within the first two weeks of the chess program registration. A 5% fee will be assessed for refunds to cover the cost of credit card fees incurred by the Nashville Chess Center.

Our host website may charge a $2 fee as well, that is not refundable - as it is not money the Nashville Chess Center charges.

LDC Chess Club will meet Mondays after school from 3:05 PM to 4:05 PM in the Mr. Olmstead's portable. 

Chess begins on Monday, September 27th through December 13th the first semester and restarts January 10th, 2022 will end on Monday, April 25th, 2022. 

Parents pick up students right outside the portable at 4:05 PM. Any students not being picked up should be enrolled in after care. Students that are picked up late consistently may not be allowed to continue (no refund will be issued). 

The payment for the chess club is for the entire school year (both semesters). 


Chess WILL NOT MEET: Mondays, 10/11 for Fall Break, 01/17 for MLK Jr Day, 3/14 for Spring Break. 

All students will receive a 1-year Gold Membership to ChessKid.com as part of the club (included in the entry fee). 

Our chess coach this school year will be National Master and Former Tennessee High School and Overall State Champion Forest Chen. Forest is a student at Vanderbilt presently and has worked with school groups before in Knoxville where he is from. 

Students will be encouraged to compete at outside events and be part of the LDC Chess Team, however, it is up to the parents to decide which events to attend. Outside events do have additional entry fees and sometimes membership fees to the US Chess Federation if officially rated.
