This registration page is strictly for the current students of Montessori East Academy and their families. Please do not register for this after school club if your child is not currently enrolled. 

2024-25 Montessori East Academy After School Chess Club (1st Semester)


This club is open to the first 20-students that register. 

Dates and Times:


Chess club will be 3:30 - 4:30 PM after school on the following Fridays:

September 20, 27

 (No chess October 4 or 10 for Fall Break), October 18, 25 

November 1, 8, 15, 22 No chess Nov 28 for Thanksgiving)

December 6

(9-week program)

Description of Chess Club:


Coach Zane will return to lead the Montessori East Chess Team. Beginner and experienced players are all welcome. Each chess club will have a 10-minute training lesson, with the remaining time for students to practice and play against each other while Coach Zane mentors and monitors the group.

We hope to create a competitive team to go to the following events:


September 21 - Lipscomb Academy K-12 City Qualifier #1 (Lipscomb Academy Lower School)

October 12 - Chess-in-the-Park K-12 City Qualifier #2 (Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee back lawn)

December 7 - Ensworth Final K-12 City Qualifier #3 at Ensworth Red Gables Campus in Belle Meade

All students in the club will receive a Gold Membership to the 100% child safe and friendly site ChessKid.com (normally $49 per year).
