We are excited to bring chess back to LDC in 2024-25! Please read below for complete details:

When/Where:

 
Chess club will meet each of the following Wednesdays after school from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in (CLASSROOMS TBD).

 Schedule:


September 4, 11, 18, 25

October 2,  No chess October 9th for Fall Break, 16, 23, 30

November 6, 13, 20No chess on November 27 for Thanksgiving Break

December 4 and 11  (13-weeks total). 

2ND SEMESTER:


January 8, 15, 22, 29

February5, 12, 19, 26

March 5 (NO CHESS FOR SPRING BREAK MARCH 12),19, 26

April 2 and 9 (SNOW DAY MAKEUP APRIL 16)

(13-weeks)

Who can register?


The first 40-students in grades 1st-5th at Lockeland Design Center. (2-Group Levels)

Each student will receive a 1-year Gold Membership to ChessKid.com to supplement our in-class learning! (Normally $49 per year).

Once registration closes, we will send out a complete, informational email to our team about  their coach, how students will transition to chess, how they will be dismissed, how we will communicate  to our parents of the team, and of course, complete information about all upcoming tournaments and  events where we want to see the LDC Chess Team competing!
