Our experienced coaches make chess approachable, challenging, and fun for beginners and experienced players alike. Students build chess skills while strengthening concentration, problem solving, confidence, and sportsmanship.

Qualify for the Nashville City Championship

Three qualifying tournaments across the city. The top finishers from every division advance to a January round robin for the title of Nashville City Champion.

THE ROAD TO THE CITY CHAMPIONSHIP

3 Qualifiers → 6 Players → 1 City Champion

At each qualifying tournament, the top 2 eligible players in each rated division earn a spot in the 2027 Nashville Scholastic City Championship. The six qualifiers in each division meet in January at the Nashville Chess Center for a 5-round round robin — every qualifier plays every other qualifier once.

Eligibility

Players must live within a 75-mile radius of the Nashville Chess Center to qualify for the City Championship.

All-Girls City Championship

The top 2 female players in each rated section at each qualifier also earn a spot in the 2027 Nashville All-Girls City Championship, held in January at the Nashville Chess Center.
